Small town on the highest elevated lake (Lake Chautauqua) navigated by steamboat in the world ( 1308' above sea level 92 ft deep). From Lake Chautauqua, the Niagara River descends 326' to Lake Ontario. Used to be a small town of 500 people in the winter time that grew to a few thousand in the summer time. It is a favorite place to visit and live for many!
